I have a car loan but will be paid off may of next yr. I got my Capital One a yr ago. It started at $300 bit its $500 now. In April I got my Citi with $4300. That's all I have on my credit. I've always paid on time on everything.

Re: Getting a new card

Looks like you have a thin file, and maybe a short AAoA.  I wouldn't push the issue of high CLs too fast.  Do you belong to a CU?  Plus, DiscoverIT has been giving out decent CLs, if that one interests you.

Re: Getting a new card

how old is your car loan?

You don't have any lates or negative info on your CR right?

What is your approx. income?

All lenders can start you at high or low CLs. There's no one card to apply for high CL. It just depends on your income and whatever is in your CR itself.

JPMorgan Palladium (100k), AmEx Platinum (NPSL), AmEx SPG (46k), AmEx BCP (42k), Chase Sapphire Preferred (47k), Citi Prestige (31k), Citi Thank You Preferred (27k), Citi Executive AAdvantage (25k), JPMorgan Ritz-Carlton (21k), Merrill+ (15k), US Bank Cash+ (22.5k), Wells Fargo (12k), Bloomingdale’s (12.4k), Chase Freedom (5k), Discover IT (5k).

Re: Getting a new card

go online and request CLI on your capital one card now (it's a sp)

go check pre-qual for Chase and see if you get an offer

or perhaps american express blue cash preferred

Re: Getting a new card

Ok, I don't really know all the abbreviations. So I'm not sure what CU is. I looks it up and it said (credit union) idk what that is, so I guess I'm not. My car was ran for 2yrs and I'm never late on anything. My income is $35k. And in April when I got my Citi card my score was 721

What type of cc are you looking for? Rewards, Travel, Cashback?

Re: Getting a new card

I was thinking travel. My Citi is cash back but only up to $300 a yr. If there are better cash back I'd like that

Welcome to the forum

How many INQ's = inquiries have you had in the last year and in case I mised it do you know your scores?

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?
