Re: Getting a new card

I've just had one in the last year. And I haven't had the actual credit report pulled so see my 3 scores. Bit when I got my last card in April, the paper said my score was 721

Ok so INQ's are low but you really need your scores to proceed.

The 721 was it EX EQ TU?

With this info it will be better to advise you in which direction to go

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: Getting a new card

It didn't say. When I got my last card, on the paperwork that came with it said my score was 721. I never got my CR pulled because I knew it would lower my score. Sorry. Should get my CR pulled knowing I'm gonna try and get another card? If so, wouldn't that make my score lower?

Pulling your CR's does not lower you scores when done by you..A lender pull lowers scores also known as an HP.

If you still have the letter with the score it will say which CB they based the 721 on EX EQ TU

Re: Getting a new card

Based on reading this thread, my advice to the OP would be to take a week to read this forum and educate yourself. After a week or so of understanding what credit is and how it is used, you will be in a better place to make a more educated decision. It will be well worth it.

Re: Getting a new card

They used TU and I don't really use my capital one card and about 60% of my Citi Card. I don't max it out ever only reasons I have it that high is because there's no interest and I didn't know about only using 20-30% of the CL and it will be played off next month

After your UTL is payed down and reports to CR's I would look into Amex and Chase cards

Do you currently have any cards with 5K limits or better?

Re: Getting a new card

I agree with azguy13. Go through the threads, ask questions and then narrow it down to your top picks. Although we can give you a list of our top picks, they may not be best for you. More information regarding your travel needs ie lounge access, domestic, international, particular airline and how many times a year you plan to travel- would be a big help

Would you benefit with a hotel cc? If so, where do you stay?

Re: Getting a new card

whic citi card do you have? What range are your fico scores in? What is your income level? What are you trying to accomplish with a third card? It is really up to you as to what you are trying to do. If you are trying to simply build your credit I would certainly recommend getting a third card as soon as possible. In my opinion it is healthy to get 4 good tradelines gardening as soon as possible so you can good roots for a solid AAOa down the line. When I consider which cards to get I consider relationships. I want to have a good relationship with some of the biggest banks in the US so I am trying to have a relationship with each of them by getting one card from each. The companies I hav considered in this are Bank of america, chase, citibank, and wells fargo because they are all huge major companies and it would not be bad to establish a relationship with any of them .BEyond that I apply for cards that don't have a lot of fees. There are lots of choices out there with no annual fee so I look for that. I also look at the customer service ratings for these companies because that is important to me. I look at the interest rate that they are offering and the terms and compare. To help me do that I use several sites on the web. Good luck.
