Getting around Chase's 5/24 rule

Re: Getting around Chase's 5/24 rule

Sounds like the best course is to wait. I don't blame Chase for the rule, because if they allowed themselves to be paddled relentlessly by obvious bonus chasers looking to pump and dump their cards, eventually the costs would be passed on to us loyal CSPers in some way.

Re: Getting around Chase's 5/24 rule

FWIW, there were some folks a while back who indicated if you had $10k+ on deposit with Chase, you could get a manager at a branch to call in on your behalf if you were to bump up against the 5/24 rule, but that also assumes you would be approved otherwise.

I can't vouch for this personally, but it seems reasonable.

I just hope it wasn't a double pull, LOL. Don't have any plans for any other credit apps this year...so I guess I will survive.

Re: Getting around Chase's 5/24 rule

My husband got $8500 Chase Amazon, and I got $2500 Chase Amazon both recently, and we both have a lot more than 5 new accounts.  That is co-branded, though, and we do also do much of our banking with Chase, including being on our son's high school checking account that carries a high balance.  We both recently got a freedom also, with 2k limits, and my husband just called and had them move the Amazon limit over to the Freedom (better rewards).
