Getting peeved about reporting date

Ok.  I was complaining about my BB MasterCard reporting on the 30th of the month instead of the statement date.  Turns out it reports whenever the heck it wants and it turns out whenever the balance is highest.  WTH?  Just got a score watch report that this thing is reporting with an 80.00 balance the last time it reported was at the end of a month with a 26.00 balance and then didn't update for a couple of months though the statement balance was zero.  Now it's reporting on the 13th of the month with a balance that wasn't the balance on the last day of the month?  WTH?  I always pay the stupid thing before the statement date which BTW isn't until the 21st.  Definitely will close at a year.  Won't be surprised if the danged thing reports again next week as I put 27.00 on it since then and the balance right now is 107.

Re: Getting peeved about reporting date

So they are reporting the high balance for the month?

That's nuts.

My Direct Merchants cards does a similar thing.  I can never pin down when it will report but you can bet it won't be after I PIF.

Who's the issuer? Sounds like one to avoid!

That is weird-

I have yet to see an HSBC card to not report the balance from the last weekday of the month. UNTIL NOW.

Tribute does the same thing. They can't tell you when they report, so I have vowed never to put more than 9% on the card. It's crappy anyway so whatever. I will get rid of it as soon as it serves it's purpose!

I remember you saying that which is why I made SURE not to put anything on it til after that tiome. Here we are on the 13th of the month and its just reporting but with the new chargesSmiley Mad  Keep in mind my statement cuts in 8 days. Will pay it off and shred it and see what it reports then.

Re: Getting peeved about reporting date

It's probably a good idea to always keep util 1-9% instead of dancing around when you think they're going to report.  which is unfortunate when working with a smaller balance...
