Is there any thread on this forum that would explain how to use current credit card limits to obtain gift cards to manufacture high monthly spending on open accounts to improve usage and secure higher credit lines?
I am sure many people can point me in hte right direction to incorporate gift card usage to increase spend and rack up rewards.
Please advise.

And I would add that no-one does this to "improve usage and secure higher credit lines"

+1
Only advocacy is disallowed as far as manufactured spending goes. What it is and why people do it (ie, vague) is okay however.

I did this to "improve usage and secure higher credit lines".
After getting citi DC, my cap1 QS was hardly used, but I pushed the limit and successfully got a CLI for the QS. Now waiting for 6 mo to do it again.

OK, I will change that to "No-one prudent does this in significant volume PURELY to......"
Basically, there is enough risk (leading to card shutdown) that for many the "gain" from getting a CLI (which I actually give 0 value to) is far outweighed by the downside. Doing it for the rewards, yes, of course.

Don't rely on usage. If you want better CL's then you need to work on your credit and income as those are used to determine what you qualify for.
