Go for CapOne's Best Card?

I am looking at cards that have the best rate for emergencies and I saw CapitalOne's card with 7.9% var (Capital One Platinum Plus). I am thinking about applying, but am not sure about it. I have no late payments ever, no large balances on any credit cards ever (like over 30%), had credit since 1997... In march I opened a new card, asked for a line increase a couple months later (don't ask why, the card was at a zero balance) and also increased my Overdraft line for my ING checking account a couple months ago (never have overdrafted tho). Think it is too early to apply for that card? I was thinking of doing it in October, 7 months after the last card I applied for. Wonder what score they are looking for...

you should not apply for a capital one product unless you have received an offer through direct mail. capital one is know for their customized offeres. if you have not received one but have a good credit score, there is a reason. do you have a thick credit history? installment loans? mortgages? for some reason capital one tends to consider people without a mortgage a much higher risk.

I use to have a credit card with them, but closed it a while ago, actually they were my first cc I had. But really the only credit I have had is credit cards and auto loan.
