Woohoo, thanks for letting us know.  At least Chase is taking requests and not stating that it's not available like last month.

I thought about doing this, but recently used my Arrival+ EMV at WalMart and twice it said "card closed by consumer".  When I called Barclay, they had no record of the transaction at all and of course nothing saying I closed the account.  It's always worked fine before, now I'm kinda scared to use it at WalMart again.

hmm i haven't even paid attention what places have emv chips machines. I probably wouldn't even know if i saw one .

Hmm Ill take a Picture of the one near CVS if I have a chance... Also have to figure out how to add pictures in here ( would that be allowed?)

There is one in CVS and there is the screen and then the pin pad and on the bottom a Slot to add a card in like you would in those MTA vending machines for metrocards.

I don't think i paid attention when i went to cvs because usually use my QS and it doesn't have emv chip maybe next time i should try looking and use my CSP

I know Subways where I'm at have them.  Saw one at a RiteAid, I believe. I'll usually just swipe and see if it will take it to save time, and embarassment-folks think I don't know how to use a machine if I put it in the slot and nothing happens. The guy at Subway wasn't too happy when I tried, he told me I needed to swipe. Smiley Embarassed  I guess they have to push a button or something if it's not being swiped.

Re: Got my Freedom changed to EMV chip

If no one will activate their emv termianls, then there is no point using it. People say by next year october we will begin using it. I think its going to take couple of years.

Oh it was only 1 self serve register that had it and wasn't set up yet lol. I went to it the first time with my TYP but decided not to because I didn't want to look like an idiot inserting my card like that lol but 2nd time it didn't do anything.   Also I read on FT I believe or elsewhere if the reader can read EMV chips and you have a card with EMV and swipe it it would say to swipe it on the Screen.    Oh there is some place in Brooklyn that does have it. Also a few in Manhattan. I think I googled who takes EMV chips in the US or something lol

Aren't EMV chips good only for out of USA and Walmarts?

The liability shift is scheduled for October 2015, so you will probably see a lot more chip enabled machines at major retailers in the upcoming year.  I see a lot of machines that the retailers haven't enabled (Target, for instance) so I'm anxiously waiting for them to get it started. Still don't understand why the US is so slow in migrating to EMV.
