HD CLI Question

I tried searching but most things I read were pretty old. I thought I'd read that Home Depot was always an HP for CLI. I went as far as this:

There's nothing THERE that says it'll be a hard pull. But maybe that'd come up on the 2) Verify Information screen?

I'm familiar with Citi and I guess I blew by something on my TY Pref that told me there'd be a HP. My DC is very clearly worded that it will be a HP.

If you go to the FAQ on the HD/Citi site it says:

How do I request a credit line increase?

There are 3 ways an account owner can request a credit line increase:

  1. Choose Request a Credit Limit Increase in the Tools & Services menu.
  2. Select the Request a Credit Line Increase link on the Account Online page under each eligible card you have registered.
  3. Call the number on the back of your card and speak to a Customer Service representative.

In order to complete your request, we may check your credit bureau history or use credit information we already have on file.

I'm afraid to go past this screen to the next. I definitely won't now. But I'm curious given the lack of (searchable) info.

(Yes, the Utilization is high, which is why I'd like the CLI. But overall, I'm down to 19% from 52%, so that's a good thing.)

Re: HD CLI Question

Why don't you just call the CSR and initiate through them?  {Mod cut. That tactic is not allowed to be discussed}  Is it worth $10 to be sure you don't get an HP?

Easy-peasy.

I could, huh. It's not EXACTLY a home improvement emergency. LOL. But I would like to do the bathrooms now that the kitchen is done. I'm slowly getting over my resistance/fear of calling on things.

Re: HD CLI Question

I'd pay down that balance before asking for a CLI. Smiley Happy

Re: HD CLI Question

Not in a giant hurry since it's at 0% thru 7/16. But yeah, with my newest Discover CLI putting that uitl down a bit, my focus will move to HD.

ETA: I figure if a CLI when I was at 89% was good enough for Discover, maybe it's good enough for Citi.

Re: HD CLI Question

Should have recon this CL when you got the card and probably could have gotten $25-$35k with ease... I would not go for it now with it nearly maxed out... they will more than likely auto cli as you pay the balance down and when you get it way down make it worth the hp and ask for $35k.

Maybe you're mixing responses. Plenty of personal cards Smiley Happy

I think the second paragraph was meant for someone else. I got the HD card in the whirlwind of kitchen Reno. DH did recon his. He asked for 40, they gave him 10 and he recon bed in store to 20. I was horrified and shocked at the time. I was happy with my 10. Now that I GET util though... Not so much.

I wouldn't EXPECT a cli with my current util, which is why I would only do it on an SP.

Re: HD CLI Question

Based on mod intervention. I know what was said. In any case citi won't pull any one else. They call you and tell you. Open it. They will wait on phone.
