HSBA pre approval/invite

I have a secured orchard and I am pre approved for a Patinum MC online on their website. I went ahead and got denied. Reason: I recently opened one HSBC card and have to wait for 18 months unless I get an invitation. Or I could close the existing orchard card and so I could get the new card which I was preapproved and otherwise denied. The CSR told me it was a 320 CL card with 79 AF. I told her no thanks and would let my secured orchard do its job for 9 more months. 

Question is, since I was preapproved online and also actually approved with a 320 CL but for a technicality, is there a chance I would be receiving an invite anytime soon? Does HSBC mail out invites/preapprovals often? Or do I have to wait those 18 months?

Yes HSBC will send them. I received them about every other month. But HSBC is weird. I would recommend you do a little seach on HSBC here.

Thanks for the info. As its likely that they would start sending out invites, I would rather wait. I wish theyd start softing me me though. My file is much better than when they approved but denied, me for the card.
