HSBC AmEx?

Does anyone have a link to this? The only link I got from Google was from HSBC New Zealand. I am really interested in the cobranded AmEx. I applied for the BoA cobranded AmEx but got the usual "need more time" message, which is usually a rejection (exception to this was Hooters). Any links or info would be greatly appreciated.

Re: HSBC AmEx?

I got an invite in the mail for this card in June. Applied online and approved instantly with $2500 CL. I tried to find more info on this card online, but could not find anything. I think it is a very new product for HSBC... they are still working on getting online servicing up... my last statement said by Nov 07.

This account has also not started reporting on any CRA yet, and I got it in June??? I only see the INQ when I applied and they pulled TU. Here's the only online link to apply, but like Brammy said you need an invitation code:

Re: HSBC AmEx?

Awesome. I wanted to see some sort of proof the card existed before I start bugging them about it. I am waiting on a HSBC MC to come in the mail, and am going to try and get them to convert it. If you don't mind me asking, what were your ficos when you got accepted? I am curious if they are more stringent with approvals. I have the HSBC Discover card and like it a lot.

Re: HSBC AmEx?

My TU at the time was about 658. Yeah, between March and June I was getting pre-approved invitations from HSBC about twice a week... from Platinum MC, Visa to their Discover. I had responded and was approved for 2 MCs for Household Bank in March and was concerned about getting the Amex, since I think HSBC typically has a limit of 2 cards with them, but not sure they consider Amex & Discover in that count.

I have since closed one of the MC and kept the other since it has 2% cash reward and no AF. One negative about HSBC or Household though... I called to get them to consolidate the 2 MC accounts to the one I was going to keep (2% cashback). What an ordeal... the CSR took down my request and said I would receive a response in mail within 2 wks. Well, I got the response, which was another form to make the request asking for all my info (SSN, DL#, etc.) and each acct# along with a nice little disclaimer that they may pull my current credit report in order to process the request... this was a dealbreaker. Why would the need to hard INQ me to combine the 2 accounts (both PIF with $0 balances)? If it were not for the 2% CB with no AF, I would have closed both. What poor CS!

Re: HSBC AmEx?

Have had this card for 4 months..just this date received notice of CardServices on line options...have not yet registered as the member number carries an extra digit and I want to confirm via l/l that this service is now available.  Love the card...will love it more if I can manage it on-line.

My mom has this card and just received her statement yesterday. Now we can pay online. I handle all of my mom's financial affairs and was really excited that this finally came through! I like managing bills online. It's much easier!

Re: HSBC Combine Accounts and/or Close Small Accounts?

I got an Orchard Bank card 8/06 with $300 LOC, I called them twice and they charged me $10 to bump it to $500 total. 3/07 I got an offer for another Orchard card with $300. I called them once and they said they would go to $400 for $10 and I said never mind.

I was reading about combining the two cards on here. So today I took the plunge and called to ask if they would combine them and give me a LOC of, say $2,000, since I got approved instantly online last week for a BJ's Barclaycard with a $3,000 LOC. (My first decent LOC on a card in almost 10 years.)

They told me they would be sending a letter where I could request the combined account. OK, so should I do this? I don't want to fill out all the stuff. The fees are $49 a year, and I rarely use them. Rigth now they both have slight credits, since I overpay a little on purpose.

I have a Cap One Platinum from 4/07 with $39 AF and LOC of $500, and a Credit One from 12/06 with $550. The only balance I have is $5 on the Credit One for the stupid membership fee. All together my total LOC was under $2,000, now it went up by the $3,000 Barclay's. Since the FICO always says I am hurt by a low overall available credit, am I better off keeping the low LOC ones? Or should I close them to simplify things?
