HSBC Consolidating accounts

I have 2 HSBC cards; a mastercard and a plat mastercard. I want to combine the two accounts but have read some horror stories about drastically reduced credit limits etc. Please share your experiences with HSBC as it relates to account consolidation.

I'm against consolidation on general principles, as it turns two positive tradelines into one.

I absolutely for it from the standpoint of higher limits.

I looked into this-

When the form came and clearly said:

We might hard you

No guaranty of combining limits-

I filed the form and closed both accounts a few months later.
