HSBC did a Hard Inq...

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Pulled TC last night, saw HSBC did a Hard Inq on the 20th. Why? They do routine soft ARs but why would they do a Hard?

Oh well, I'll give them a hard time later, turkey & football for me today.

Re: HSBC did a Hard Inq...

I posted about it in another thread I think. I called to dispute it but was unable to have it removed or recoded as soft.

They pulled the hard inq because I was late 2 days in Oct. It was punishment.

Since then I have requested that they combine my 2 cards. Once I receive the offer (via a letter, not instant) and combine the cards I intend to continue disputing the inq.

It's irritating, like swatting pesky flies.

Thanks for asking.

Umm, did they state that in writing or verbally only? If it's the former, talk to a lawyer. If it's the latter, what state are you in and do you have any hangups about recording your phone calls.

BOA a did 3 hards on my CR when they issued 99/500 and when I disputed, they said it is legitimate inq and they will not remove it. My question was why 3 Inq's. They say it is legitimate inq and they will not remove. Do I have case to dispute this argument?

Verbally. I have no problem recording calls, heck most times you call a CCC CS you've already agreed to the call being recorded so my view is that I would not need to additionally inform them that I'm also recording, or I could simply ask "is this call being recorded?"

I agree & I intend to pursue it, just do not want to do anything till I get the combine offer. BTW, have a 5yr perfect payment hx with them, 1st time ever late & by 2 days. The inq really ticked me off.
