Hacked twice..citi didn't even let us know!

I've been out of town for a few days and just did a run through of all my accounts to make sure my charges were correct and I noticed a pending charge on my hubby's account for some water company. So I made him call them up real quick and they CSR told us that there was a denied charge at six flags a few days ago. Thanks for letting us know , Citi! Last time I got hacked Wells Fargo was nice enough to send me a text and call me.

That's a drag, sorry to hear it. Do you have your account set up to receive alerts?

No..I usually check everything everyday but I needed a break from credit card stuff. Sure enough the few days I don't look my account gets compromised, twice. The CSR goes "I deleted the charge." **bleep**? I was like how about you send me a new card so it doesn't happen again.

Really, you'd think sending you a new card would be the first thing they'd do (after notifying you of course).

I know! I was really irritated that they couldn't even call me and let me know someone attempted to use my card.

They get annoying at times, but posts like these make me value my Amex "Card not present for transaction" emails...

Re: Hacked twice..citi didn't even let us know!

I have all my cards on some type of alert (any purchase over $1, with AMEX the lowest it will go is $10. Citi sends out an email, I cant figure how the Citi app will alert me, but its still instant. A few months ago I had one of my Citi accounts hacked 2 times in like 2 weeks. Once just some random transaction, then once after I used it (first use after I got the replacement card) at IHOP and next day $500 in fraudulent ATT Prepaid card charges and one for $350 at jpay.com (commissary site for prisoners....didn;'t know until I called em) Citi had me worried for a while.
