Re: Has anyone applied for discover 3.9 apr. and been approved?

I apped last November online for the Motiva CC and got the dreaded 30 message. I called them up right a way to ask what's up. I spoke with a manager in new accounts and he said based on my app and credit scores, I qualified for a CL beyond what their automated system can approve. They gave me 10K instantly with the promise I could get their highest CL later. It turns out later on they would only approve me for their highest limit if I furnished Discover with my financials, I declined.

If your EX and TU scores are high, your income is over 121,000 (HHI is fine) and no baddies, you should get whatever you want. Did you app already?

yes i did tonight. got that 30 day notice. I haven't pulled my EX score but I had a baddie fall of & my FAKO is over 680.  My FAKOs are (or use to be) lower then my FICO. I have no baddies at all on EX

I called them and was told to call tomorrow as it wasn't in their system yet. And she did look without putting me on hold.

Happydays,

I just got approved for Discover Motiva and my EX was in the 680's. I was approved for 3.9 with a CL of $5000. They did a hard pull. I probably wont use the card, but it was nice to get it....

I am here at the Sleigh Center for that one...

Where's my nurse?????Smiley Very Happy

Edit: Oh yea, I did apply online and was accepted instantly, got an automatic welcome message. I called the rep and she told me my CL and interest rate, got an instant email message and got two messages today saying my card was on the way....

Hi, stpn, hope you're enjoying your stay at Sleigh! Hope they put the Wanderguard bracelet on you, so they can tell when you make a quick trip to town! Smiley Wink

Seems like I remember that while your were still in Afghanistan, you had some lates that you were trying to clear off. If you don't mind me asking, once you were pre-approved and then accepted for Discover, what derogs still showed on your reports for the last two years? I'm hoping that in March, all my old crud will be old enough that they'll approve me, but until very recently, there's been a lot more chatter around here about AmEx's criteria than Discover's. thx!

Re: Has anyone applied for discover 3.9 apr. and been approved?

Hey Hauling,

I still had one 60 day late from a student loan in Dec 06. I also have a 60, 90, 120 day late from Georgia Power from 2002. Capitalone also had a baddie (30 day late) from an old credit card from 2002. These are the only ones I have. But all these are aging and it appears not to have had an effect.

Thanks, that's very encouraging! If there is still a US credit system in existence in March, I'm going for the Open Road. When the fam has six cars, and the newest is a 1995 with 160,000 miles, that 5% back on auto maintenance and gas is a heck of a deal! Smiley Very Happy

Re: Has anyone applied for discover 3.9 apr. transfer and been approved?

I did and they emailed me approval in two days. Showed on my EQ at end of month a couple days later.

Interesting thing is that they gave me a CL of $10k with FICO of 746. I just laughed out loud.

I have a MBNA (now BofA) with $46k and Amex Optima of $82K.

Not worth paying 3% no limit to transfer a balance and then pay 3.9% interest. In a year that works out about 7%, which is same as my normal rate on the only cards that I carry a balance on.
