I personally have been holding off on reapplying for another cap1 after my chargeoff/settlement with them but I have read many accounts of them being forgiving and giving second chances on here. As for discover, I keep reading the exact opposite.

I've gotten both -- Discover (orig 1.1k now 3.5k) and a Cap1 (orig 3k now 4.25k) -- after a settlement.  (CLI's came w/in 7 months.)

Add to that list a Chase Amazon Visa at 4k.

Many years inbetween the settlements and the new apps.

For discover, how many years in between?  Long enough that all lates had fallen off?  Long enough that the account had fallen off your reports?

Yes and yes.  It will take some digging to find out how many years, but I'm guessing around 8 on the Discover.

The Chase was more recent.
