Re: Have 2 Cap one quicksilver cards. Should I convert one?

I have two Quicksilvers. Because their closing dates are different, I tend to use one during one part of the month and the the other card during the other part of the month. And because I tend to pay more or less as I go, this results in each card reporting a balance of zero on my credit report.

If you're into balance transfers, you can take advantage of a balance transfer offer on one card will leaving the grace period intact on the other.

I was looking into this for their balance transfer offers.

It is good to have many options when deciding what to do and recently Cap one has been offering a 2% fee for bal transfers for 12 months on one of my quicksilver cards, which is a lot better than any other offer besides applying for a new card with a zero fee.

Thing is that one of my quicksilvers has bal transfer offers and the other quicksilver does not (only the offer to transfer at current apr).

So I was wondering if I PC the quicksilver without offers to the Venture, then maybe being a different product will make a difference and they would offer some bal tr offers once I PC that I can consider in the future. They may not, but since the card is sitting still without being used anyways, I thought maybe it was worth a shot.

Any thoughts on this? (thanks for everyone's replies)

Capital One BT offers are entirely unpredictable. I never get them anymore when up til last year they used to bomb my mailbox with convenience checks.

@Superduper2014, a PC to Venture isn't likely to generate more balance transfer offers than the Quicksilver will. Generally, the way to acquire a Venture is through an application rather than a PC as the sign-up bonus is one of the card's main values. I'd just ride with what you have unless Capital One starts offering SavorOne PCs.

@GApeachy, if it's been less than six months since your last PC, there won't be any offers. Once six months have elapsed, offers may start to appear.

Okay, thanks.  (3.5 months now)
