Have the itch to app

Man now that my EQ report is clean and the score is prime. I am really getting the itchy finger. I even froze Exp and TU. I was eyeing target and discover. Except theres a fraud alert on my reports. So pretty much has to be a manual review for any app? Forget the story behind the fraud alert.. its there and I wish it wasnt. Can't I get it removed?

Re: Have the itch to app

you can have it removed, but not necessary. I have a fraud alert on my reports as well. This is what I do, I apply online and I usually get the 3-5 message so I call in and tell the rep that I have a fraud alert on my report and got the 3-5 message & I believe it is due to my fraud alert she pulls it up and says yes that is why. They will ask me some verification questions and tell me whether or not I am approved. It didn't work for me one time and that was with my local bank.

Re: Have the itch to app

I certainly understand your itch to apply! I hope you'll snag up one or two prime cards through your EQ score. Then, however, stop and let those age for a year before you continue! It's better this way!

Re: Have the itch to app

You know what. Over all the excitement of having a high equifax score. I wasn't really thinking all too clearly. My amex account just reported so I'm taking a hit for a new account. Also my paypal and bestbuy cards are only at 5 months. I'd be stupid to apply right now IMO.

Guess I wasted money freezing those reports. Are freezes only good for a month?

I'm not going to app for anything for atleast 3 months. Maybe by then the fraud alert will fall off naturally.

Man I have to hold it steady. My eq score is good but Discover or even target could easily deny based on these new accounts.

I think I will trust your council ;-) I don't think having all these new accounts is going to help me get approved. They need to age a bit more and in the mean time I will be working on that last little collection I have on exp and tu

Re: Have the itch to app

What accounts do you have and how long have you had them..I would at least do penfed with that EQ score. They are known to give out limits with like 20k on cc, I cant wait until I clean my EQ up. I'm already a Penfed member as soon as that score shoots up i'm apping.

Starting Score: TU:636 EQ:592
Current Score: TU:709 EQ:637 EX:706 (PSECU)
Goal Score: TU:790EQ:760 EX: 774
