Re: Help Broken Calculator!!!

I guess the pencil still works....so I'm about 45% util...hmmmm

I have 12k coming in....if I pay off $2500, should be at 40%.  I hope this makes a nice difference in the score.  I'm currently at 80%.

Re: Help Broken Calculator!!!

Bringing it below 50 should definitely make a diff.  Let us know.

Re: Help Broken Calculator!!!

If you google "online calculator,"  you can find some free calculators available for use.  I don't like the calculator that came with my computer software, but I found one that's not too bad for my purposes at caculateforfree.com.

Re: Help Broken Calculator!!!

This might be a little excessive, but I use Excel to keep track of util % (and estimated payoff timeframe).
It makes juggling 7 cards (all with balances) much easier, and also helps me figure out the best way to balance payments to both pay them off faster and keep util. as good as I can get it.

It also helps me track who I've paid so far this month, as I have a spot for "proposed payment".  Any card with a number in that spot has not been paid; after they get paid this calendar month, I take that number out and update the new balance.

Re: Help Broken Calculator!!!

OpenOffice.org is a nice program to have (and it's free) if you do not have the Excel spreadsheet program. It beats using a calculator. Having a personal finance software doesn't hurt either. I'm still using Quicken 2001, but others are good too, like MS Money, Moneydance, GnuCash, and Money Manager Ex.

I consider that normal, not excessive  Smiley Very Happy

I have used Excel to keep track of my finances for years - it does all the math for me!
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid
