Hi! I am planning on using the advice of several of you about only having all my accounts report a zero balance except one, but it will take me about another month to get that accomplished because right now I have small purchases on about three that I will pay off by the end of the month. The account I plan to allow to report is a Best Buy account which I used to purchase a laptop. Now here's my question.....I have a Discover and Chase Freedom and I would like to be able to be considered for a CLI in six months, what will my chances be if I keep letting zero balances report...do they frown on that? I mean, it's not like I'm not using the cards, I'm just paying off before the statement reports to the credit bureau's.
I think thats a great way not to pay intreast and they should be glad that your responsible, I would think they would not frown on it
If you go to Discover Spend Analyzer you will see that they're actually tracking how much you're spending on the card every month. I don't think it will matter if you don't let it report.
As long as you regularly use the cards, it really shouldn't matter whether you pay in full before the statement cuts or afterward as far priming yourself for a credit limit increase. It seems to me that lenders just like to see that you regularly use your card and pay responsibly.
