Petrovius thank you! I guess, I will bite the AF bullet and take the Bank Of America Card just for the third report. You answerd my questions on utilization, which helps a lot. And I can certainly do high utiliztion with PIP of 1 - 9% of CL for Amex and Discover before statement date. I did a search for other prime cards, I might apply for given the AAoA, advantage, if I don't take the BOA secured card to fit the 3 card model. Should I try Citi and Barkleys? I did see myFICO users with my profile have success with Chase(twice reconsidered), Amex and Discover.
Most of the Citi and Barkleys reports seem to hint at a modicum of history or AU for a couple of months before the application.
On the AU with the high 700 score, I think their utilization is more than 3% which I am targeting, but always paid in full. Will have to check if the utiization is dropped to 3% before statement date. Does the AU model account take into consideration the overall utilization of the credit user or just the ones I am added to? I ask because, the user has three cards which are not used and report a zero balance. If I add only those will that change the uitlization calculus? I know, I am probably asking questions, which are obscure. Just trying to parse the models to see if the AU addition even makes sense for me.
I thought about the shopping cart trick and the 20 store cards. I don't really want them on my credit report. My credit report will likely be pulled by my employers from time to time. So, will pass on that neat trick for a thick file. I will get a good credit history the old fashioned way, with a utiilzation model based approach.
Yes-Its-Me Thank you once again for all the replies! My expectation of 750 in six to twelve months was based on myFICO posts and a few other posts on a couple of different forums. The user applied for one secured credit card. $10 a month paid in full after statement. In six months applied for an unsecured store card, with zero utilization. Score shot upto 748 or 750 in nine months or so. so, yes, I think the 18 months is a more reasonable expectation. Thank you for pointing this out.
