Plus, I will be using my DiscoverIT CB (Applied in mid Nov 2022) on the quarters with gas, paypal (shell app), and digital wallet due to the SUB of cash back match equaling 10% on gas. And the CFF on the quarter that is has gas as my UR points go farther when I transfer them to hotel/airline.

I have been using the SUB on my CFF on 5% gas, but it is about to end on Feb 13th. So, I am looking at 2 cards specifically the Citi CC or the AMEX BCED. My wild card is the Abound CC Platinum Card (I do live in KY). I was clued in to another card with a good gas bonus AAA Travel Advantage Visa (I used a central KY zip code to get to this page) https://cluballiance.aaa.com/money/bread-financial . It looks like up to $350 points per year so $7k spend. I will only use this card for gas. I may just get the AAA Travel card
@SpaceCityCCuser Hi! Do you mind sharing which card(s) you went with and how you like them? Thanks!

Hi, I am currently using my BCE (3%), before that I was using my CFF for the 5% SUB. It was for 12 months up to 6k spend. And, in quarter 3 of last year, one of the bonus categories was also gas so that was actually 9% in gas that quarter. The Apple Card also gives you 3% at Exxon/Mobil stations, so that is another option. My Discover IT Cash Back and CFF will most likely have gas as a quarterly bonus category so in those quarters I will use those cards.
If you live in KY or IN or are military/former military, you might look into the Abound CU Platinum CC, it has a unlimited 5% in gas and also has rotating quarterly bonus categories as well.
I went with the BCE over the Citi Custom Cash because I was concerned about Citi's sensitivity to new accounts/inquiries and I was getting pre-approvals when I checked in AMEX. I like it so far and I will most likely apply for the BBP later this year because it won't affect my 5/24 and I can get under it next year. I have a couple more chase cards I want to get.
