I just got in with amex finally about two weeks ago now so very new. I was approved for BC ($500 limit) and Everday ($1000 limit).
First question is it looks like if I apply for another card it's only a soft pull if denied?
Second, I thought I read if I login online I can find offers available for other card?
Lastly, when is the best time to as for a CL increase with amex?
Thanks in advance,
You definitely need to give them time to grow and season a bit. AmEx is fast, but not that fast! Your BC is on their version of credit steps. You need to follow the program to get your CLI. The $1000 SL are typically slow to increase, but can be done. Read up on the AmEx 3x CLI thread.
Once you log into your account, you can look for your personalized card offers. If the card your interested in says “YourName, expanding your membership is easy...” then it’s a denial. If it says “YourName, your pre-approved...” then that is likely an approval.
They will use the last FICO report which your FICO score shows plus their internal score. This information is useful because if you know your score is going/has significantly increased, you’ll want to hold off app or requesting a CLI to ensure your best report will be used. Be strategic! If you take care of AmEx, they will take care of you.
