Re: Help me decide on one, last card!

Anybody know if there is a preapproval site for CSP? I could try to see if I'm on their radar.... although I don't get any mailed approvals for any card from Chase.

I am actually looking to open a nice checking account at someplace other than Wells Fargo too. Chase would be fine although I don't want two hard pulls - one for Checking and one for CC.

I doubt even if I apply at a branch that they could do it with one. Too much to hope for, right?

Do you have a Chase near you?  If so, open the CSP first, then wait for them to send you an offer of $200 to open a checking account.  If you open the checking and CSP at the same time, you won't get the offer.

If you go to chase's website there is a pre-approval tool however I was pre-approved in the branch and not online.  If you aren't preapproved online stop by a branch.

I didnt think banks hard pulled for checking accounts? Also Chase has a pre selector tool on their website but I never got anything from it. I just walked into the bank and said let me  apply for the CSP. I just made sure my reports looked good. Only one card with a balance. When the rep called in to verify, the chase banker said he had a customer with a pre qualification for the CSP when I never did on the website....

CSP-$8700, Amex BCE-17.2k, Chase Freedom-$5700
Discover It-$6600, USAA MC-$5900 Ink Bold- $12k United Explorer-$5k

Re: Help me decide on one, last card!

It says "Your Eligible Offers":

CSP (40k bonus after 3k spend), Slate, and Freedom.

Is that preapproval or is that not preapproval and just funky term to fool you?

Looks like a preapproval to me.  If you want the card, looks like you'll be approved.

sounds good to me but I would go into a branch.

None of them are pre approvals by the way. Just maybe meaning theres a better chance

Oh, you mean, apply for the credit card from a branch? Not talking about bank account, right?

I wonder if it makes a difference. Maybe I hook them by asking to deposit $25k there... ha. (No, i get it, that doesn't do anything... not to mention that's peanuts to Chase)
