Thank you so much for your information. I am so nervous about their decision. Has anyone had this message sent to them, and what were the results?

Did you call? You must call. Let us know what they say to you.

Re: Help me determine what to do next

I think I remember you posting on another thread that you're new to the US. They probably need to verify your ID.

As jmbfl said, you absolutely must call them and see what they need. Bank of America is immigrant-friendly, but if there is something that you need to be doing on your end, you should start the process.

No one here can tell you anything, until you call and find out what the snag is. Good luck!

Re: Help me determine what to do next

I am very happy to say I was approved for my own card from Bank of America with a $1000 credit limit. I was turned down by Discover but am very happy with my approval anyway. What should I do now? should I remover myself as an authorized user on my husband's accounts or wait for a time until I can prove myself. I want 2 more cards but I an afraid to try now. Any help would be appreciated.

Do not remove yourself as AU on the other accounts. This is helping you. I would wait 6 months to 1 year before applying for more CC. Hopefully by then BofA will have auto-CLI'ed you at least once. If not go to the web and request a CLI. Do not rush this - they will not like it. In the meantime: Do you have an installment loan reporting? If not get one. The easiest way to do this if you really don't need the money is to open an account at a CU of your choice, deposit your own money, and then borrow it back. Easy, painless, yes it will cost you a few points interest - but it will improve your credit mix and increase your FICO's.

The other thing you might consider doing now is getting either a Macy's, Kohl's or gas card. This too will help your credit mix and should be easy to do.

Re: Help me determine what to do next

I applied for a walmart store card and was approved for a $500 limit. I have now a $1000 Bank of America card with my 3 authorized user accounts with my husband. I really want a Exxon card and I will not apply for any more cards for 1 year. I have 3 questions. Should I still apply for Exxon card? Is it easy to get with my situation? When should I remove myself from husband's cards?

Should I still apply for Exxon card?  YES

Is it easy to get with my situation?  You should get it. No guarantees, ever.

When should I remove myself from husband's cards? Unless it is causing a personal problem -or- you think he is going to go bad on his debts no time soon. As I stated this is helping you - massively!

Re: Help me determine what to do next

Ok, I got a message from Exxon saying they need to verify information and it was from Citi website. I recieved the same response from BofA and called them and they approved me. Is there a number that I can call them, or has anyone recieved the same message and was approved? This will be my last attempt to get new credit so this is important to me. If they do turn me down I'll just be patient and have them beg for my business in a year:-). My husband says I should not worry about it since he's the reason my score is so high (you know men), but I really want this card since I've had 4 inquiry's and only a BofA card and a Walmart store card to show since Discover and possibly Citi/Exxon turned me down. I need your help.

Re: Help me determine what to do next

Well, you can call Citi and ask about the card. They should tell you your reference number and you can check about the application(from backdoor thread:  Citi: 888-201-4523 (Approval Status)). I called about my application and they said they needed verification of address. They offered a fax number, but I just waited for their letter and mailed it back to them (still waiting). Probably faxing is faster, and then you can call back after they get the fax and check the status. They were very friendly on the phone with me. Hope this helps and good luck!

Re: Help me determine what to do next

I agree with siangirl. Didn't Exxon/Citi give you a phone number when they said that you needed to call?

I know it's stressful wondering what the hitch is, but sitting and worrying and wondering won't get you any farther along. Give them a call, so that they can finish processing your app. Good luck!
