@Anonymous wrote:Ha! Great thank you all for your help. I really appreciated it. Now waiting for these CC's to get on Apple pay!
Barclays is compatible with Apple Pay. Not tried it myself, but the site advertises Apple Pay and I got an email about it this week.
I am waiting for more merchants to pick up nfc payments. The trend looks like most are shunning it like CVS, Walmart best buy etc.
CVS and Walmart are both on board with the planned rollout of CurrentC and thus won't be supporting Apple Pay anytime soon. Many major retailers are hoping to use CurrentC to avoid credit card swipe fees and the like by offering discounts or loyalty rewards to people who use CurrentC instead. CurrentC involves QR codes and directly paying from your bank account. I don't think CurrentC will take off because I feel much safer shopping with a credit card than a check/debit card or anything involving a direct payment from my checking account. But in the next 1-2 years we might see competing payment systems before one or more of them go away. Hopefully Apple Pay, Google Wallet and the like stay around (and credit card rewards too!).
CurrentC is an no go for me because they have direct access to my checking account, we have seen how awesome retailers are with security and not getting hacked. Secondly no points or cb of any kind makes it another reason i wouldn't even touch it.

If you can link a Debit to it, I'd say get a Paypal SmartConnect and a Paypal Debit.
Shame on them!

AF can be as low as 95. But Diners is not really worth it for most. Lackluster reward program with low points for the AF. Less flexible than Amex and Chase points. Nothing like the CSP/Amex sign up bonuses. All Diners really has is high limit cards and well some amount of nostalgia for older CC users (before my time, but my parents recall when Diner's Club was the premier rewards program). I guess the 300 AF cards have good lounge access benefits for some who travel internationally, but other cards have better overall lounge access. No reason for people with good credit, low utilization, and better rewards cards to app for Diner's other than for nostalgia sake. And a 95 AF for utilization is generally a bad idea anyway since many CUs give nice limits and you can always pick up a CU card or two to boost utilization instead of Diner's Club. For most people, wasting a HP for a Diner's card is probably not a good idea.
Time for me to hide before the Diner's Club fans come and flay me alive for daring to question the card's value

I get your point
I was part of the "No bonus? No first AF waived? No way." camp too. I figured I might as well see if I could get my foot in the door seeing all those easy approvals with limits high enough to pay my newest car off, lol.
And the card looked none too bad, as well.

i agree for most part, if you don't care about the ridiculous initial CL then for non category spend card, i would rather get amex spg. The one thing about diners club if you have an lot of amex and chase cards its an interesting option
@Anonymous wrote:Barclay Card Sallie Mae Master Card is what I meant and I have just been approved for $5k. Should I call for CLI within 30 days? What are the success rate to maximize my CL? FOr Discover do you think I can get a greater 10k limit?
sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! congrats, you got a VERY nice rewards card for your monthly spend.
my second choice would be chase AARP 3%
