I have a BOA cash rewards im using for 3% back on gas and the AmEx BCE for 3% on groceries. My question is what card should I use thats non-cat spend?
Barclays CashForward (World Mastercard): Would take an eternity to cash in the rewards, but yields highers than 1.5%
Amex Schwab Investor Card: Amex acceptance isnt every where and would be inclined to use BCE here anyway
CapOne QuickSilver (Visa Signature): Seems like the obvious choice given the no hassle rewards
Thoughts? Opinions?
No dice, as I am over the 5/24 rule.
I would use the Capital One for general spend. There is no hassle when redemption comes into place.

Question: Are you using your Sallie Mae for the first $250 in groceries & gas to earn 5% cash back? If no, you should be. Are you looking to use a card already in your arsenal or apply for a new one? If your plan is to stay with current cards, use the one that offers the highest cash back potential for general spend. If you want the latter, apply for a Double Cash.

Probably the Quicksilver since you can redeem any amount. If you're not a big spender, the Cashforward will take forever to reach $50 as you noted.
The Schwab card, meh. No real advantage to it, still the same 1.5%, but forced to put into Schwab account. Can just take a check from Capital One and do the same thing but no requirement.

+1 for the DC

I agree! I use the DC for everything that doesn't fit into a higher % category elsewhere. I love it!

With a 5 year old BK reporting, the DC isn't an option. I think I'm going with the Schwab Amex. All my cash rewards from credit cards are deposited into my brokerage account anyway so that card makes my life easier. Plus, the Amex offers are awesome for cash back. The Schwab Amex isn't for everyone, but for someone like me who invests that cash anyway, it's perfect.
Sounds like a good plan northface28 and investing your cash back earnings is a sound decision. Best of luck to you!
