We have our auto insurance bill coming up soon.
I would like pay the 6 month bill with my Clear Points card under the correct 3x category. Thanks for your help in advance!
As an aside, I been having issues accessing the App and Via mobile over the past week. 😠
I don't think there is a 3% category for Clear Points that works for insurance, car or otherwise. The closest is "Business Services", but the description for that is "Business Services - Office Equipment and Supplies, Advertising Services, Courier Services, etc..." so I don't think insurance qualifies. I have a couple 5% category cards (US Bank Cash+, Elan Max Cash, Discover) and none of those work either so I just use my PayPal MC with 2% on any purchase.
Utilities would cover it if it's covered. That category is very broad and I have heard that it works for insurance, both car and health.

Thanks @Anonymous and @DaveInAZ .
I have my 3x for Utilities and I will see if this works.
Yes I have the clear points card and have Utilities as my 3x category, and auto insurance counts. (Have used both geico and progressive)

Sweet. Thanks @Anonymous !
Since we're chatting about BBVA and merchant codes, does anybody happen to know if MCC 5983 (Fuel Dealers-Coal, Fuel Oil, Liquefied Petroleum, Wood) is classified as utilities? (It's not on the U.S. Bank Cash+)
I've been using my Limitless for this (2.5%) so it's not as if the jump to 3% would be major, but in the winter months that one gets ~$2k and my BBVA ClearPoints could use some exercise, LOL.
USAA car/renters insurance codes for me as utilities for BBVA. Anyone know if it's the same on the USB Cash+ or Max Cash Preferred?

Cash+ is very strictly gas, electric, water, and waste management MCCs for Utilities.
To close this out, I did get 3x rewards from BBVA on my auto insurance charge under Utilities category.
