Help with Amex BCE approval odds

So my Experian FICO 8 is 673 this score was pulled today from experian.com

I have 20 Inqs, 3 in last year. But 8 of these are from buying a car so Idk why they aren't lumped together

11% Utility, which is wrong I only have a $10 balance on Quicksilver one, but walmart hasn't updated experian yet I guess?

AAoA 3 yrs 3 months

4 negative accounts with late payments

I want the BCE because of the no annual fee, 0% apr for 12 months

I have a couple of larger purchases to make, yearly insurance payment by the end of this month, I'm up for a new cell phone, and I need new rear tires on the car.

I've seen lots of people get Amex lately with similar score, but if something is glaringly out of place let me know.

Thank you, and any updates as to why am I a new visitor again? Smiley Sad

Re: Help with Amex BCE approval odds

I think you have a pretty good odds, mine is lower and was approved. Try to get on their PRE-Qualification site and check, I'm pretty sure you're a candidate! Good luck and let us know!

Re: Help with Amex BCE approval odds

I meant to include, in the rare chance that I get approved, what does amex usually do about appointing statement date?

If I apply today and I am approved, will the statement date be say 9/10/16 or 9/1/16? I ask because I want two cards with first 15 days of the month as statement dates and two with last 15 days of the month, that way I can alternate use more easily and avoid any statement closing with a high balance. I already have discover and sony card as early statement dates and I have quick silver as late statement date, I just need one more later of the month statement dates and I'm happy.

Re: Help with Amex BCE approval odds

You can request your statement closing dates, I applied on 11th with AMEX and they have me on 14th for my closing date and the only from 21st I have on 24th. Anyway, your first card will give you 45 days from the day you get your card to make a payment. If that helps any...

Re: Help with Amex BCE approval odds

Well to my surprise I was approved for a $2,000 line with the BCE!!!

This is pretty awesome, now to read how I get a $5,000 total credit line and I'll be set for quite some time.

and they moved my statement balance immediately by request. Very good customer service so far.

Re: Help with Amex BCE approval odds

I'm too late apparently but I'd have asked why you thought the BCE was the best 0% APR offer out there. Unless you actually spend on its good rewards categories later it's not the best choice imo

P.S. You're not going to get any immediate CLI now right after app. Pay it well for 6- days and then you can get the 3x CLI for an SP

Re: Help with Amex BCE approval odds

Whenever it is 61 days past your account opening date. By the time of the second statement, yes, probably.

Regarding my other point, you could've also qualified for the Chase Freedom Unlimited for 15 months 0% APR and better rewards (1.5% flat). But likely the CL would've been lower and Chase is stingy with CLIs so if you need an increase soon then Amex was the right choice

Chances are Chase wouldn't have lowered the OP's APR after the promotional period was complete, either.

If you want great cards, pick Chase. Outside of the cards and their benefits... If you want great customer service, APR reductions, and easy CLI's, don't pick Chase.
