Help with credit.

I currently have a 643 (EQ) 628 (TU) and 637 (EX)

I have a few cards Best Buy Visa, Belk, GAP, Lowes, Firestone and am interested in getting a Discover IT card and transferring balances. Would that be a good idea?

Also, I have a old payoff on my credit report (Cap One) that has been paid, but the item still exists on my report as paid off.

Anyway I can get rid of it?

Hi and welcome. Smiley Happy

What is the age of your oldest account, and your average age of accounts. (AAoA)? If all those are fairly new, it may be wise to garden for a while and let those new accounts grow a bit.

As for the old paid account, the only legitimate ways to get rid of it would be a goodwill letter to Cap1 or requesting early exclusion from the CRAs. EE usually won't happen until close to time for it to drop off. There are set time frames that each CRA will EE, but I don't know what they are. Maybe someone will come along and fill in that info for us.
