High usage & score

an acquaintance was mentioning that she has a credit score of 811 with a utilization of 80%. I find that a little hard to believe. She has a mortgage, two car loans, and student loans. Even never missing a payment and having a great track record, wouldn't that be highly unlikely. I'm impressed if she does... Just wondering as my Dh had a score close to 800 before his usage crept up. His scores are now in the mid 700's. I know there are a variety of factors to consider but with usage being 30% of the CS doesn't seem likely.   What do you think?

Re: High usage & score

What does "credit score" mean in this context?  What scoring model?  What CRA?  Where did she get the score from?

It is unlikely with that level of utilization but has she been consistently at 80% and is 80% what is reported or just her current utilization?  Short term high utilization isn't an issue but prolonged 80% utilization can certainly be a problem.

Re: High usage & score

The initial question she asked was what is the range/ highest score possible. I didn't ask and don't think she knows which model or cra. It's probably a credit card score. As I mentioned, it's an acquaintance, so I didn't ask too many q's. Just a little smile and nod. I did mention that I have the same score and that my usage is 4%. Her jaw dropped a bit at that. Lol I love hearing Credit score talk.. It's all relative....

Re: High usage & score

She has a

mortgage

two car loans

student loans

I don't see mention of any credit cards there? if the 80% is only on those other products, that is likely a different "80%" than an 80% draw on a $10k CC.

Does she have any credit cards? Are they relatively low CL?

Re: High usage & score

She didn't mention and I didn't ask (acquaintance), but that's something I wondered as well.

Re: High usage & score

Yeah it sounds to me like that 80% is including the installment loans.
