Same here. Just yesterday I got this notification within my online account.

My guess is that this is an IT boundaries issue among email (inherently insecure), marketing (spam everything everywhere), and security (Linux backend employees overruled / laid off by Microsoft Windows frontend bosses).
Dang @Gollum you got that figured out! A *bit* disappointing that a multi billion dollar firm like Amex screws up one like this... unless it's common?
I think it's the tech. They've got a sprawling feature set on a slew of online services that still shows 'legacy' website pages for various things.
Amex isn't the only multi-billion entity with lagging on some communications, has Frankenstein like websites and other quirks among my most used bookmarks.

According to US Bank I still need to complete my "new account checklist" on my Altitude Go...I've done it probably half a dozen times trying to clear out that notification popup every time I login, still hasan't cleared yet. Got just another email remninder about it a few days ago. It's completely set up, has everything they want and yet for some reason their system isn't figuring it out.
I just need AMEX to implement a SUB tracker and I'd be happy.

Reminds me of the Experian alert emails for anything really - CLI, new account, new inquiry, etc. The email always comes a few days after the actual notification in my account, and by that point, I've already taken a look at it.

You would of been upset if it was a cld email I bet. That would not of been a good day.
@Traveler101 no lies told my friend!
