So I go to activate my Marriott card which did arrive today UPS (2 business days good job). And I'm talking to "Angel" from somewhere in Missouri. She starts like any normal activation and then something must have popped up in her screen. [MBSS has sent two secured messages regarding the 70,000 pts / 2k spending offer. He won't shut up about it. MBSS got $500 dollars from us in bonuses from his checking acct and Freedom and immediately funneled that money over to American Express]
She had started doing the normal activation. "Would you like to hear more about the benefits of your card Mr. MBSS?" Then she stops and mentions how I wanted the 70,000 pts. She then launches into a long spiel about what constitutues appropriate bonus spending. "Balance transfers are not eligible, nor are cash advances or cash equivalents, or blah blah blah check blah blah annoying csr fake happy lilting voice accent blah blah." They think I'm a MS'er or churner.
I bugged them too much about the 70,000 pts. I sent two messages because after the first one they wouldn't get back to me in 24 hrs like they promised. "Angel" knows my goal in life is to take money from Jamie Dimon. I need to hide.

I think thats the standard line..
They gave you the same spiel. Oh good.
I'm just paranoid.
BTW, jsucool, they are still doing the 70,000. Apparently you just have to bug them enough and they give it to you.
I'm not the type to quit after one try.

Well....I activated my cards online.
I verified my bonus when calling to expedite my cards though.
It's a pretty blk card.
It came already with one scratch on it in the lower right hand corner. Can't say I wasn't warned.
What was your experience redeeming your free night at a Marriott 1-4? Do you stay at a lot of their hotels?
The 70k bonus is on my Marriot account. I still haven't redeemed it. I'm just going to wait for a couple of months.

Hey MBSS, how does one go about sm'ing them to expedite the new card if I have no account number yet with them? In order for a sm to be sent, I have to set up the acct, in which an acct # is req'd. I didn't want to have to call... though I suppose that's what it will take...
