How Many AMEX Cards Do You Have

 Amex Blue, Amex HHilton, BOA, USAA and Macy's Amexes.

I opened an account in 1984 and closed it in the late 80's.  I have an Experian report verifying that Amex card.  I contacted Amex and attempted to get them to backdate my current Amex card.  They told me that an Experian report would not do.  They had to validate it internally.  I read Walt_K's comment and contacted them again and asked for an investigation.  The CSR began the process, then put me on hold while he spoke with a supervisor to make sure of the procedure for the investigation.  After a few minutes, he came back and told me that it could be done if it was done within 7 years of having the card.  After that any account is considered a new account.  Oh well.  I tried.

The biggest mistake made when wanting to get an account backdated is calling them. The answer the phone CSR gave you is bull. You have better luck sending them an email. Normally  emails are answered by people in another country. It may be too late to email now. They probably notated your account referencing your call about the issue.

Sorry to hear about this.  Mine was within 7 years, but I didn't realize that had anything to do with it.

I have 2 and was just approved for the 3rd.  I had PR Gold and Blue.  I was just approved for the Delta Gold.  Once a few more inquiries fall off, I'll apply for the HHonors.

1 back to 2010. I have another one in the mail but I assume my first will roll off when the new one comes in.
