So it depends, but generally, there are not a huge number of new cards every year. More a slow and steady thing.
And unlike say electronics, new cards are uisually no better than the older ones, with a few exceptions (such as CSR) and if they are too good, they quickly get nerfed.
So again with rare exceptions such as the launch of the CSR, you don't get lines of people waiting outside the CIti branch for 24 hours hoping to be amoung the first to get the new credit card, as you do with the iPhone (who may or may not be deluded but anyway!)
