Chase approves me for CSP, Freedom and Slate. Discover gives me a specific interest rate. Capital One sent me some mail about their intro card. However, when I go on the prequalified sites, Citi, Capital One and USBank do not have anything for me. In particular I'd like to get Cash+, or Double Cash. Maybe Venture down the line. A little disappointed that it looks like I'm far from my goal cards, unless anyone knows the prequalified sites to be bunk.
They have been spot on each and every time for me but that is such a YMMV thangy thang.
What does your profile look like?
EQ, EX and TU scores? UTL? AAoA? Cards reporting a balance? INQs? New accounts in last 6 mos/last year?
Honestly, I just have one FICO score from my Barclay's card, and it's at 710. I missed some payments on a car loan over a year ago, because of switching banks and not properly setting up autodraft. Huntington wouldn't waive the late fees so I'm sure that killed my score. I maxed out my Barclay's card when I got married, but I paid it off a couple of months ago. I had the money to pay it off when I charged up the card, but for some reason didn't want to make one big payment, which was probably dumb of me. Noticed my score jumped up once I paid it off. I recently applied and got a Discover card and was given a good size line.
And how about UTL, AAoA and new accounts?
Chase and Capital One have been very reliable with their pre-qualifications. If you see that they give you a specific APR on the offer, from my experience, you can be sure you will be approved.
Now, in terms of credit lines, etc, that will depend on credit scores, how your reports look, and other factors like income.
0 balance on all cards. Not sure what AAoA means?
Average Age of Accounts = AAoA
USAirways card is probably 10+ years. Discover 2+ weeks. AMEX charge card is probably 4 years old.
I'm an authorized signer on three accounts. Not sure if that matters.
And how recent are your negative items?
For what it's worth when I was new to the Forums and wanting to apply for new cards I would pull my reports to see what my scores were and what exactly was on my report. Knowing this helped me make a more sound decision on what I applied for and when.
I waited to apply for all my cards (except Wells Fargo ) until all my reports were 100% clean and clear. This worked best for me.
My opinion they are not accurate at all. Amex said I wasn't approved for anything. Applied via phone instantly approved 21k.
