How bad is carrying a CC balance ?

I'm thinking about carrying a balance for a month or two on my freedom that I just got last month . It would be about 35% of my limit . Would this hurt my relationship with Chase ? Like Getting a CLI or another chase product ? I just got the card so there's no interest charges to worry about .

No problem as long as you do not max out the card and make minimum payments Smiley Happy

Re: How bad is carrying a CC balance ?

I wouldn't make a habit of it, but I'm essentially doing the same thing with the 0% period.  Although I'm making way more than the minimum and want it paid off in 3-4 months.

I think you'll be fine. I've been trying to get into much more of the habit of PIF so I can save money on interest as well as getting a BT card soon though but as long as your balance isn't like 60% of the card's limit or anything like that, I don't think you'd have too much to worry about.

Re: How bad is carrying a CC balance ?

Of course you will have no problem. Outside of maxing out and then paying the minimum, issuers WANT you to carry a balance. Its how they make money. Not saying you should do it routinely for your own sake but its pure paranoia to think they'll be upset at you carrying a balance. Its the whole point of a credit card...
