I should be receiving my Amex Business Gold Rewards card in the next day or two. Nothing will change in how I use my SkyMiles, Freedom, Citi or Cap 1 cards, all pif with only one reporting a balance at a maintained less than 6-7% so I'm not concerned at all about the continual Amex sp's....I fear I have turned into a fico "Scoe Ho"
I have a software purchase for my business that is on a deferred payment plan until the last of February along with some advertising, etc so I'll spend enough with no trouble to get my signup rewards. Even though I signed up for a business card, I can use it individually and simply segregate the business and personal usage...I'm a CPA.
I've never had a charge card and with Amex monitoring, how best do I utilize this card so that I keep a nice spending limit?

As long as you don't have late payments, you'll be fine. They are generous with the spending limit after you demonstrate good habits of paying your balance and not spedning crazy amounts of money.
Put any reoccurring charges on it (phone, cable, insurance etc). I use it for everything except for Chase and Discover revolving categories.

There really is nothing like Amex for charging large bucks. That's what they do and it's the kind of customers they know and understand. I've added a couple AUs and set their CLs and notifications appropriately. One is used by a biz associate only for biz expenses the other is my gf and is used only for non-biz. I use it for both. I love that Amex itemizes the charges for each of the AUs which makes it easy for record keeping. I have no idea what limits Amex sets for me but I've charged some large amounts, even mid 5 figure internet purchases without any issues at all and those are otherwise a pain that I used to have to do with wires. Dandy card.
Sounds like just use it. My large charges will be my firm tax software but payment is not due unti the end of Feb. I have to make the payment anyway so I might as well get a bit of history established on the Amex and then run the big one through. Thanks
