Jeez, I owe just under that in cc, I make just under that in net, & I have a hour drive to work each way & have a $1650 mtg (incl. tax & ins).
I know things are tight, but I'm making headway.
Don't forget...with that $450 car payment comes full cov insurance too. By the time the car is paid off...it will be worth about $2500.
Several years ago when I started fixing my credit, I bought a 2003 mitsu galant. Paid it for 2 years & sold it while still under factory warranty. Cost me a bit, but that excellent TL made it worth it. Maybe you can do that too, depending on the year& warranty.
I'd take a look at the apr's on the cards & get the highest one paid down first...JMO.

Now, let's not get extremist in the other direction

The OP suggested going BK, so I think "extreme measures" are appropriate in this instance.
Did he? I didn't see BK mentioned. I also don't see how a BK would be approved with those numbers. The credit card debt is two months' net salary.
Whoops....I had been replying to 2 separate threads and got my OP's mixed up....sorry
No worries . The other suggestions were definitely good in both cases.
Moved poohgirlsimba's post asking about CC credit protection programs to its own thread on this board; new title "Question about CC credit protection programs".
