Thanks, I actually remembered reading that thread.

Looks like an income requirement of ~30k is necessary.

Income has nothing to do with it aside the credit limit you will receive if approved. Someone making 10K will get a Visa Signature the same as someone making 10M assuming their approval is for a credit line $5,000 and up.

Right, but income is a major factor in determining CL.

It can be a factor. Lenders just want to make sure you can supply the income to repay the debt. Theres no true minimum income IMO. As for Visa sig, as some have suggested apply strictly for a visa sig card that way your guranteed the 5k line and signature.

Guranteed Visa Signature Cards:

Marriot - Chase

Sapphire Preferred - Chase

Venture - Capital One (Not the Venture One)

Hilton Honors - Citi (don't quote me on this one, but pretty sure they are always signature even under the 5k limit)

United Mileage - Chase

Ritz Carlton - Chase

theres many more but some lenders if you apply for X card you might get a platinum based on CL or be considered for a lower tier product.

BK7 - 2/21
Cap1 QS - 2k (4/21) - Closed
Mission Lane - 4k (11/21) - Closed
Venmo - 900 (11/21) - Closed
SavorOne - 2700 (12/21)
VentureOne - 2000 (7/22) - Closed
CareCredit - 15000 (6/23)
Sam's Club - 5000 (7/23)
Venture - 5500 (8/24)
HELOC - 33000 (7/23)
Venture X - 15000 (11/24)
WF Reflect - 5000 (6/25)

Thanks for that list. Appreciate your time typing it (or finding it).

However, I'm not interested in getting cobranded cards at the moment.

The only one I would be interested in would be the Venture, but I don't see that happening with the required 3 HPs.

Re: How can I make sure I get a Visa Sig?

it's completely impossible to guarantee a visa signature. surprised that hasn't been said yet

Wouldn't that depend on the product? Some products are possible to be Visa Signature such as but not limited to Freedom, Quicksilver, Amazon Visa, Venture One...etc.

While others are basiclally guranteed but based on approval obviously.

Re: How can I make sure I get a Visa Sig?

exactly. just because a card is only visa signature doesn't guarantee you'll be approved for it. csp for example. only offered in signature but doesn't mean you qualify

@Have you checked the Capital One prequal site for Venture or Venture One? I apped with scores lower than yours, even though I had no prequal. Was approved for Venture @ $15k and Venture 1 @ $7.5k.  Both are Visa Signature cards, btw.

I believe my credit history is too short to be pre-qualified, as I already checked. Thanks for the info.

I thought your AAoA is 10 years? Not short and I have a BK reporting from 2011. I guess you need to decide if you want to cold app for a Venture. As I stated, I did and was approved instantly. Venture is for sure a Signature card, not Venture 1.  Up to you, as I understand you are just asking for feedback. Smiley Happy

Edit: I think at your age, you might have typo'd your AAoA. Smiley Wink

Haha, any reasonable person would think I typo'd my AAoA.

I'm AU under a couple of my parents cards. One Discover (20 years), One Lexus card (15 yrs), Another Discover (10 yrs) and another one around 10 years. Didn't calculate aaoa, but I'm pretty sure its over 10. This is also why I had a 739 credit score right when I turned 18.

I'm planning to get Venture, but not at the moment since I have other cards on my mind besides that.

Re: How can I make sure I get a Visa Sig?

How long have you had your CapOne Cards? I started getting prequalified for the Venture and QS right after my 5th statement cut on my QS1. If you have had them 5 or 6 months already you probably have a great shot of being approved.
