How did you get your Sams Club MC (in store)?

I've heard of folks getting the pre-approval in store but it never worked out for me what way....and I'm in Sam's Club at least once a week religously.  I waited until I was over 730 on TU, when I pulled the trigger I was sitting at 736 TU at time of approval...CL now $13.5k and I've have it just about 2 months now.

Just to add a data point, I got my own Sam's Club MasterCard by applying online.  A few days later I went to a local club and had my picture made and got a temporary card that could also be used in-store only for credit (the temp card wasn't a MasterCard).

I picked up a few items, and when I went to the register to pay the cashier swiped my temporary card (that also allowed instore purchases to the new MasterCard), and told me I was "pre-approved" for a credit account.  I was a bit confused, and simply told her I already had the MasterCard but didn't have the card yet.  She simply continued without saying anything more.

I suspect the pre-approval was for the PLCC card since it should have known I already had the MasterCard.  I know this doesn't answer the original question that started the thread, but I wanted to add this since I definitely got a pre-qual offer at the register when I was checking out.

I just went tonight and signed up for membership and applied at the desk while there.

When i signed up for membership they told me i was pre approved... it was a great feeling as i have been wanting this card

I also apped online.

The closest Sams is about 100 miles away.  However, as EVERYTHING is 100 miles away, it's not as bad as it sounds.

I was in Sams around Christmas, and needed to renew my membership, but their computers were down (so they let me check out with an expired membership).

I was looking at the Sams MC, and needed to renew my membership to apply, so I did it about a week before my next (last) trip to Sams.  Card arrived the day before said trip, and had my picture taken after I got the card.  However, as their printer was down, I received another new Sams card with my picture on it.

SL is $3600.  Just paid off the first statement, waiting for the 2nd statement to close and then plan on calling CS.

TU FICO is 717.
