How do CC's determine your location when you APP?

Hey everyone,

Credit card companies pull reports from different agencies based on what state you're in, but what determines the state? IP location on your computer when you app or the address you have on your credit report? My cc location says Michigan but i'm currently living abroad. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum 

Lenders negotiate pricing with the CB's so while it may appear to be state pacific, regional etc etc 

It's just the price the 2 parties agreed upon for each transaction

As far as you being abroad and applying can't say for sure but who they pull will probably be based on your home address as usual IMHO

Fairly sure it's based on the address you put when you submit your app.

Definetely not using IP, since I apped for 3 cards while studying abroad, so my cards would arrive by the time I got back home.

Didn't have a problem with any app due to applying while abroad.
