How do you close a card and ask them to remove the tradelines and inquiries?

Hi, after the duck card disaster, I made my final payments and want absolutely nothing to do with them. Ive only had an account for a little over a month before the cards were "compromised." I want to close my duck and beaver accounts with them. Do CC companies usually remove tradelines and/or  inquiries in situations like this? Or is it nearly impossible to have them do this? I also  don't know how to close the accounts? Do I just ask the credit rep to do so? By the way my limit was 500 per card so it's not a big deal for my utilizaiton. Well I have learned one thing, don't just app because people here do. This was a horrible impulsive decision.

it should stay on your report for 10 years, if its positive why have it removed?

It is unlikely that they'll remove the inquiries and tradelines since you did use it even if just once, and it's also an unusual request. I can understand WHY you want it done, and your frustration but I just don't think they'd comply since they are reporting correctly and it is a positive tradeline. I suppose you could call them and ask and also ask that they put it in writing that they'd remove the inquiries and tradeline...but try not to be disappointed if they don't agree to it.

I didnt even use one of the cards; the beaver card. So maybe I could get that one removed. Do lenders frown upon closed accounts (assuming they have a 0 balance)

They won't remove anything. basic CSR wouldn't even know what you would be talking about. Doubtful management would do it.

I want them removed because I don't want anything to do with that business. They told me my card had been compromised (I had an ongoing panic attack for a week because of this) when in reality thats probably not what happened. I also have too many CC. I miss when I just had 1-4 cards. Not 7

Some suggest that you should have CCs open for a year of positive payment history, though I'm not sure if this looks better under manual review or if there's other reason to do this.

I'd suggest just chopping the cards in half and throwing them in the SD and either close them in a year or let the OCCU close them due to inactivity.

okay so I assume closing to inactivity isnt bad right? I have never even used my beaver card, theres no need for it, should I just stop using the duck and beaver all together and wait for them to close them?

Banks will only remove inquiries and tradelines in the event of fraud. Since you did open the account, the inquiry and trade line is there to stay. Some banks may make an exception and cut you some slack, but don't count on it until it actually happens. Such occurrences are very rare.

This.  Just quit using them and let nature take it's course.  Maybe they close them in a year or two, but maybe they don't and down the road you need them.  A closed account on your file looks the same no matter what as long as it is paid as agreed.  You've already taken the hit for the inquires and new accounts you might as well let the account report.  Plus it's more work to close them then to just let them be.
