So after 100,000 payments you do something else?

Re: How do you pay your cards?

mostly pull.... but been using my main banks credit card lately so I just transfer funds to pay. Also that same bank has great phone access and I can transfer the funds to pay my visa from my checking through my phone.... Might start doing that more as its my main card.

>90% of the time it's pulling from the card's website.  I have a credit card with my credit union that I use for my banking as well...that's just a simple DDA to loan account transfer.

Re: How do you pay your cards?

I usually pay through my credit cards website. The account that has more activity is my Discover card. Usually it only takes about a day for the payment to clear. For my other credit cards I just use my online banking bill pay. Much faster that way.

Re: How do you pay your cards?

i pay from the card's website, & have it draft my checking account.  in the case of navy federal, since we don't do our checking there, i had to add an external account so that it would draft from our checking account.  some extra steps but it's okay Smiley Happy  we do have to push the car payment to our credit union from our checking bill pay though.

Re: How do you pay your cards?

For 99% I pulled payment from credit card issuer's website. Rarely have I pushed payment from bank.

I find that if you push payment, it takes at least 3 days for it to show up on your account. With pulling, it gets credited the next business days.

Re: How do you pay your cards?

I push through BofA. I have pulled through CC websites, but the idea of giving a creditor direct access to my bank account irks me just a bit. Hence I only pull if I need it to go through now. Like if I realize I forgot to schedule a payment and it's due today (has happened once or twice) or if the statement is closing today and I want to drop util % for FICO reasons.

Yeah, BofA billpay is pretty sweet.

Re: How do you pay your cards?

US Bank has a great online bill pay service but I just prefer to going to CC websites and pay directly once a month. I have all their pages set up on my iPhone.

Re: How do you pay your cards?

I pull from the CC website every time.  Not a chance that I'd ever push payments to credit cards.  I want a confirmation number, from the company that I actually owe money to, as proof that they can reference saying  I made the payment.  I don't want a confirmation number from my bank that means nothing to my creditors.  When something goes wrong, which it does all the time...you'll know why I do this.  Sure, your bank will take care of late fees if they make a mistake, and they'll do all sorts of stuff to fix any errors...but your CC isn't going to care.  They'll just see they didn't get a payment on time.

Of course, I pay early enough to where this isn't really an issue, but still...I prefer to deal with my creditors directly, not through a third party.

Plus it is simply faster, and I log into their sites all the time anyway checking transactions, rewards, and watching for special offers.
