He who hesitates is lost?

Couple of weeks from 6 months without a new account or inquiry now. Find the recent increase in fico points more
rewarding than another credit card.
After initial inquries fall off from rebuild, hope to never see more than 3 inquiries per cra again, max.
Prior to rebuild, might have gone 11 years without trying for any credit. Did'nt know I was gardening
Same here. I was living my life in ignorant bliss (NOT!) because I didn't know I could qualify for better cards. For the most part, my arsenal is complete. Thanks myFICO!
Its easy to garden when you see that in 6 months since your last app your scores continue to rise.
Its a good feeling when inquires fall off and you get a little score bump. That can only be achoeved by not apping

Someone that sets an unrealistic goal has a higher chance of specific failure. Set reasonable goals and follow them up with the next one in line. Instead of "gardening for 2 years", garden for 3 months 8 times.
Excellent idea Tuolumne!

It depends on how you look at it. I would rather wait or hesitate, as you put it, and get approved for a high SL and low APR then approed for a low SL and high APR. That's if you get approved at all. Then spend the next 6 months to a year trying to increase the CL and lower the APR. To each her/his own
Its not hard. Before i started my rebuild let me think hmm. The longest time inbetween apps was about 8 years. No app of any kind. Cash existance. So it is not hard. if you are satisfied with what you have then no problem.

Right, and if the Issuers eliminated rewards, I'll go back to cash again. I'd rather give the rebate to my local Merchant and curry favor with them rather than enrich the coffers of the Issuer.
@Open123 wrote:In my view, really depends on the credit environment. If it's a seller's market (tight), don't app. If it's buyers' market (cheap and free money), app. Until the Issuers decided to up the offers and bonuses, I had gone without an app for 10 or 12 years. Once they offers are gone, I may never app again, until they return.
+1. Some great advice here. Instead of viewing it from a time-perspective, instead view it from a value perspective.
If there's value to be had, then by all means apply. However if there isn't any (or if the value provided isn't worth your time), then don't bother applying.
Have at least 10 accounts of mc/visa/amex mixture. Once you have enough cards, you can be picky on applying to cards. Well that is the point for me.

Think you should list ALL your cards in sig.
