Re: How easy or hard is to get a CLI from Chase?

My niece isn't too happy with Chase atm. 5+ yrs banking with them. 2k in checking, 4k in savings, Amazon Visa 1.8k, Slate 6k, and Disney Visa 8k. Amazon and Slate are 2 yrs old and Disney is about 6mos. She's never been given or requested a CLI in all this time. She's never been late, never had an overdraft, nothing. Flawless. No baddies, nothing.

She requested through secure message center for a CLI for all three and requested a soft pull, or at minimum, only ONE hard pull for the 3 requests. Chase refused. They wanted 3 hard pulls for each product. She told them to cancel the request. Reeediculous.

If she's had the cards for two years she most likely would be able to increase them. She could always ask for an increase on one and then distribute the credit limit to the other two cards. Unless she does balance transfers a lot, I see no reason to still have the Chase Slate. In my experience, no lender uses the same inquiry for different applications of new credit.

Thanks. I was thinking the same for Slate. I'm trying to come up with the best plan for her, maybe a PC. I have to research their PC policies. She doesn't want another card on top of these. She doesn't use the Amazon anymore either. She does use the Disney since she lives in FL, so it serves a purpose. On the other side, I'm utilizing these cards too as a AU, so they do benefit me also. Have to find a happy medium. LOL

Oh, I see. Well mving credit between different cards doesn't require an inquiry at all. So if you choose a card that would be best for both of you, you could have a card with a 15800 limit without a credit hit.
