I haven’t gotten any cards with SUBS yet. Do lenders help you track spending towards a sub or do you have to do it yourself?
Typically there's no evidence that you even have a SUB offer after you're approved. It's completely up to you to track that spend, and the bonus should just show up after that.
For the most part my SUBs have shown up within a couple days after meeting the minimum spend, incuding Delta and Hilton and Blue Cash. I think my MR point SUBs may have hit on the following statement, though.
I always print the approval page with terms, including SUB, to a PDF file and save it just in case.
Most SUBS I've earned credit to the account within a few days of hitting the spend, but BVAA took several weeks. I hit the spend May 1 and by Friday the 17th still no SUB, so I called. The rep was obviously overseas and it took him several minutes to check and then came back and claimed it would credit the next statement, it was actually credited Monday 5/20. Perhaps because it's a new account BBVA is slow to credit, I also did my first point redemption on the 20th, $37.73, and got a message that it would be credited "within 7 business days". ????? But then the next day I got an email that my redemption "has been approved" and was credited that day.

Chase does.
I got an Amex ED and Delta card a few months ago and both SUBs credited just about as soon as I hit the spend. My daughter got a Chase Southwest and Amex ED card about a month later. Her Chase card credited the SUB at the first statement, the Amex at the second statement. The main difference between our situations is that I had other Amex cards and this is her first (even though she's been an AU on my Gold for over 10 years). It appears that Amex treats new cards for existing members differently than first cards for new members. This was also her first Chase card although she had been an AU one one of mine previously.
