How hard is it to get the PCM Platinum?

Does anybody know how hard it is to get the PCM Platinum, other than being in the SEGs? I've been an SEG for a few years now. I'm not in the credit union yet, so I'm interested in the difficulty of both joining and getting the card. And what if I leave the SEG after I join but before I apply for the card?

I don't know specifically about PCM, but generally once you meet the conditions of joining (in this case via SEG) and join, that's it.   So you can leave the SEG, stop contributing to a certain mountain bike group (for AOD) or move out of the area for all geo-locked CUs.

So you would still be a member and be able to apply for a card

PCMCU in general and specifically that card get mentioned here every once in a while because of the generous cashback but discussion peters out quickly because of the restrictive membership requirement that has no known loopholes.

I did a quick search and only found 1 approval for the card reported within the last 5 years, from 2 years ago, from someone who qualified for membership by being related to an existing member.   You may find some useful information by reading the thread.

Re: How hard is it to get the PCM Platinum?

The website says credit limits range from $10-15K so that tells me that they probably want excellent credit and income to support the limit.

Curious though as those limits can be obtained by almost any CU with right profile.

Aha good deal! I'm gonna have to read back through that thread again, but it sounds (from that one example) like it's fairly easy other than getting into the SEG, correct?

Hi @seibeerF and welcome to the community.

There may be instances where they may require POI as part of the UW process. So as long as you're ok with providing the info (if requested) and are eligible for membership then give it a try.
