Gah... what's wrong with calling it POI (proof of income)?
(Sorry, but for obvious reasons, the heavy use of "IV" as shorthand for income verification around here this past month has made me... twitchy.)

Twitching like you have the DT's when you hear your name being called?

Something like that...
(FWIW, username is not related to either income verification OR anything involving needles... just initials I've been using online since the early 90s.)
Understandable.... must be grandfatehred in with only two letters for UN... most systems now require at least 4-5 characters.

I had called the US one a few times over a couple of years trying to get my Sam's MC to move and never got anywhere with them or the online request. I saw the 8173 number start trending on here with success and gave it a shot or was going to close the account. They didn't give me any static or question anything at all and came back with a bump from 11 to 25K in a matter of minutes.
Gotcha, thanks for clearing that up. I really wish I could remember which number I called; my phone history doesn't go back that far. I've dealt with so many CSRs over the last few months that I can't remember if I talked to what I would have believe to be someone overseas or in the US in this case. Regardless, I'll have my father use the number you provided first in this thread and see how he makes out.
Do you recall from your call what pieces of information they use for verification when you call? Since my father has never made one of these types of calls in his 70+ years I want to make sure I arm him with everything needs and that he's set up for success.
@Anonymous wrote:Those that have experience with the Amazon card, how high do they typically go with their credit limits? Are they at all like Lowe's which is also through Synchrony that gives out monster limits? Do you call the same Credit Solutions number that you call for Lowe's? I ask because my father has an Amazon card and would like a higher limit, but I have no experience with the card. Over Thanksgiving dinner I was telling him how easy it was for me to raise my Lowe's CL with a 3 minute phone call and I started wondering if the same would be true of Amazon since it's also through Synchrony. If anyone can offer some personal experience here that would be great before I have him make the call.
Synchrony is a wild one. I have a Lowes' card with $2,400 CL, which I'm very happy with. I think the original CL was much higher, but I called to drop it. My Synchrony Crate & Barrel card has a CL of $20,000. I called again to lower to $2,000. It does not make sense to have such high CLs. I would not want to keep the bad quality Synchrony CLs to be a big part of my total CLs. Synchrony credit is so easy to abtain.
One piece advise I can give to you is that, for Synchrony, only get the credit you need. It does not do you much good to have monster CLs from them as main part of your total CL.
Good Question.
I know the Amazon store card can get up to 15K. Not sure about their Visa.

The Amazon Visa is from Chase. So it can go higher as what Chase sees. It can even go up to $50k CL if you can show the income etc. I dropped my CL to $5k now. Enough for me.

Well, considering my father wanted to puchase a TV for $10k with Amazon, I'd say he needs a CL of at least that, probably more so he has some wiggle room in the event that he wants to make a similarly large purchase in the future. $5k definitely isn't cutting it for him.

Just wonder what TV would cost $10k? I just checked the black Friday sales, and even the 68" TV just costs about $2,000.
If I want a higher CL with my Chase Amazon, I can just move some CL from my other 6 Chase CCs. I do not think Chase would extend me more CL. Already too high, six figures.
