No cash rewards, just points.  However, and obviously, you can purchase things (travel, gift cards, gifts, etc.) with the points as well as transfer points to other rewards programs for whatever benefits they might offer, but there's no cash conversion.  Not sure if converting points to a statement credit is an option---I have yet to look into that.  You can, of course, add packs to get "double points", but to me that is useless because you have to pay an annual fee for those packs.  I do have the eco and family travel packs, which are free.  If someone knows differently please chime in.

Yes you can pay transactions with points but the conversion stinks.  The best bet with the points are the giftcards. 2500 points = $25 for restaurants and retail gift cards.  1000 = $10, 5000 = $50, 10000 = $100. You can earn them quickly if you run enough stuff through. I made out like a bandit this year on Zync!!

Nice, I like the gift card rewards. Do you know if you can use your points for statement credits?

Re: How is Zync as far as rewards go??

I don't have a Zync, but I think the redemptions are the same, just that you can't transfer into other loyalty programs.  Pretty sure that you generally can find gift card options that convert at a rate of 1 point to 1 penny, which translates to 1% back on everyday spend, better if you have added a pack and are spending in a category where you get bonus points.  Yes, adding those packs costs more.  Whether it is worth it simply depends on how much money you spend in that category.

I believe you can transfer to an Amex gift card, which is close to cash equivalent, but the conversion rate is not so good there.  2 points to a penny or something like that.

Zync earns MR Express points which means you cannot transfer them to the airline or hotel partners (not that you would want to transfer to the hotel partners as those redemption rates are subpar).  If you keep your MR Express points and later add a full MR card, e.g., Green, Gold, PR Gold, Platinum, Centurion, then all of your existing MR Express points convert to full MR points, where you could transfer them to airline miles.  So you could build up a horde of MR Express points paying the cheaper AF of the Zync, then later get a Green card, for example, and transfer your points to a frequent flyer program.

Starting Score: ~500 (12/01/2008)

Re: How is Zync as far as rewards go??

You can use points to pay for card charges. I used points to pay for my AF of $25. It costs me close to 4000 points which is insane since that's worth about $40 in gift cards. The green card is the same except you can transfer points earned to frequent flyer programs with the Zync you can not do that. This is the only difference
