How long is wamu's memory!

I'm not looking to app anytime soon but am wondering how long is their memory for black listing since I co'ed first premier back in 2001 ?

My mom had a Providian back in 1997, she filed bankruptcy in 1998. Fast forward to today, she has checking & savings w/Wamu, she applied for a credit card and she was declined because of adverse history w/Wamu even though her bankruptcy is discharged, off her credit report, Wamu won't give her an account. They sure hold a grudge.

What does First Premier have to do with WaMu? If it was CO'ed and it is still reporting it is a baddie. If it is not reporting they wont know about.

If it was a WaMu account that CO'ed they would know about it forever.

I believe when wamu took over first premier they kept all the old records so alot of people that had problems with FP are blacklisted with wamu, but I heard a few people got thru the crack some how so I was wondering how they did it.

You are getting First Premier mixed up with Providian.  Wamu purchased Providian.  First Premier is still it's own entity.

Customers who have screwed Providian in the past have had it's negative history carried over to Wamu when they purchased them.

I got a WaMu Visa with my then highest CL with a Providian Financial CO on the report (dropped off a few months laer). This seems to be a YMMV

You are correct, I did get them confused but funny thing is I co providian in 96. its no longer on my cr but in the back of my mind I knew there was a connection, so there you go. I still may be black listed with them but I won't know for sure till at the earliest Aug 09!!

I was lucky.  BK'd $500k in mtg loans in Jul 07.   9 months later in Apr 08, they sent a pre-approved credit offer.   I applied and got approved with a $6500 CL with an ESPN Wamu Visa.

For me, their memory was quite short.  Either that, or their mtg dept does not talk to their cc dept.   BK is still on my credit report, and they pulled EX.
